CONFIDENCE: coming soon to an amusement park near you.
Ever since I started writing this blog, I have wanted to have more time to do so. Finding that time has always been one part of the problem…the other part was deciding what to write about. So I made a plan, every Tuesday I would blog about tips and tricks I use or have learned about REAL self-confidence. Nothing earth-shattering and nothing you can do in 5 easy steps, but just real stories and real ways to BE confident.
So, as I sat down today to write my Tuesday Tip, I realized something: I don’t know what to share! While I want to share tips on how to be confident, because I want others to feel that way, I am not so confident that what I have to share, is what you want to hear!
WOW…My self-confidence is deserting me now at a moment when I should be expressing that internal strength! It was amazing to me to realize that my own self confidence needs me to blog about this as much as I hope you need it too. It suddenly dawned on me this afternoon, the tagline I currently use for Bra Barrette is “YES, YOU NEED THIS!” and today I realize that applies to the information I want to share with you!
So, YES YOU NEED THIS information, takes on a whole new meaning for me. It’s no longer about me trying to you a product, it’s about the roller coaster ride that is CONFIDENCE! (OKAY So as I write this I am laughing at the thought: Can you imagine if an amusement park actually named a ride confidence? Who would want to ride that, it sounds….BORING! ) I know it sounds silly and corny to compare confidence to a roller coaster (especially in light of the fact that I HATE roller coasters), but…well…it’s true! Your confidence is going to come and go (kind of like your stomach feels on a roller coaster ride) but eventually you feel it again…and despite everything you ride that ride because you KNOW that the tracks are their beneath you, guiding you as you go. Just like your self-confidence.
So here it is, my YES YOU NEED THIS Tuesday Tip: enjoy the ride, the rails are still there guiding you.
See, nothing earth shattering and no easy steps, just a story to remind you, that you’ve got it, if you when you don’t feel it!

“enjoy the ride, the rails are still there guiding you” – I love this! It is so true – and yet so easy to forget – that we can tap back into our internal confidence whenever we need it. And while I am not a big fan of roller coasters either – this unlikely comparison works so well.
